NEW YORK, NY, November 11, 2024 -- A sunny crisp New York morning greeted the 105th annual Veterans Day Parade, the largest in the land, as thousands marched and thousands paid tribute up Fifth Avenue.
Bands played Francis Scott Keys note for note, color guard rifles counted the 21 salute as sashed men recalled their stories of WWII liberated by the “Greatest Generation," witnesses to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
“Thank You” signs here and there, mothers, fathers holding photographs up high of their daughters and sons in remembrance.
Dog tags, Purple Hearts, photographs of ships served lined the barricade route to honor generations forever changed by their service, our hero patriots.
It surely was a beautiful day for remembrance.
