Boston's Saltie Girl is packed to the gills with patrons, seafood offerings and surprises.
There's indoor and outdoor dining options as well as two small bars upstairs. The one with two mermaid statues decorating the bar like figureheads on ships is where everything started, and indeed a most special spot. You will be enchanted.
We sat outside in the sunken patio and were pleased with our raw tuna bouyed by ponzu sauce, our burger complemented by fried lobster, and our scallops coated in lime juice and caviar.
At one point a customer next to us finished off his drink in a coupette glass, looked around and said to his oyster--slurping friend: "This is very pleasant." A most understated, yet apt, comment!
Saltie Girl -- with outposts in London and Los Angeles -- is pleasant indeed.
