We stayed at the 101 Hotel, and it was really nice. It’s in a central area near some key spots like the Icelandic Phallological Museum (the penis museum) and the famous hot dog stand Baejarins Beztu Pylsur.

It’s also pretty close to Harpa, the beautiful concert hall right on the waterfront with stunning modern architecture. From the hotel, it’s probably a 10-15 minute walk to Hallgrímskirkja, the iconic cathedral in the center of Reykjavik.

And if you’re looking for a fun spot to grab a drink, The Lebowski Bar is only about a 3-minute walk away.
