We could not believe how a peeled, sliced tomato could taste so good. Surely the tomato itself was local, grown with love, and selected by a caring chef at the time of perfect ripeness. But we quickly learned that the olive oil of this region - note, Jaen - was supremely special. If we had known how difficult it would be to find this olive oil outside of Spain, basically impossible, we would have come back with gallons in our suitcase. But since we did not, we will mark this location for our next trip to Spain, and make that rare exception to our rule, to never travel with liquids.
We didn't look at the particular brands of the many olive oils on display at this Tavern/Restaurant. From online photos, they seem to serve Oleicola Jaen olive oil.
Also to note, this restaurant with its well-heeled crowd arriving late into the evening was a recommendation from a certain playboy cousin in Spain.
