I love markets. You already know that. Every market has a Galician seafood corner. Usually that is where you can find me. But the Mercado de San Francisco has two special places that must not be missed. Sushi Time, and Atlas Med.
Sushi Time is one of the rare places that serve Almadraba tuna all year round, and their simple tuna rolls - no sauce, no adornment, just wrapped with seaweed in rice - is an absolute delight.
Atlas Med down the hall is a Morrocan sweet and savory pastry shop. They have ground lamb or chicken in aromatic spices wrapped in paper thin layers of filo dough and also custard mille feuille that is both rich and light at the same time. You can make this place your first stop or dessert course.
And yes, no need to worry, they also do have a Galician seafood bar with Albarino white wine.
The actual market opens in the morning, but in the evenings, the food stalls open and everyone in the know show up to the market to sample yummie bites and a glass of Spanish wine.
Be in the know.
