We had a bit of a wait before we boarded a boat in Miami - so we ventured over to the Fontainebleau hotel for brunch.
The hotel is quite cinematic in scope. After all, it was a favorite of Sinatra's and has been a backdrop to some big entertainment productions.
Look closely and you can spot the Fontainebleau in such favorites as Goldfinger, The Bodyguard and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Photographer Guy Bourdin saw the cinematic nature of the hotel as well, using it as a backdrop for this photo published in a 1978 edition of French Vogue.
This print is simply called "Balcony at Fontainbleau," and shows a model in a black ensemble admiring the Atlantic Ocean from her hotel balcony.
What we like most about the piece is the symmetry of the composition, as well as the textural interplay between a stark white balcony and the striations of a calm blue sea.
"Balcony at Fontainbleau" is certified by gallery AP8.
The print measures 42'' x 29'', sits within a white wood frame, and brightens any wall... after you apply hammer to nail.
The price is $1,865.
