I love the Marais. Place des Vosges is always my first stop in Paris. It still is, but lately I've been wandering further up to Haut Marais, the Upper Marais, in search for unique, one-of-its-kind boutiques and treasures.
And when you find yourself in the Upper Marais, explore the covered market and food stalls of Marche des Enfants Rouges (39 rue de Bretagne).
In particular we fell in love with Corossol, an African-Caribbean food corner with delicious spices and aromas that reminded me of a delightful trip in the past to Senegal, in Western Africa.
The best shopping street near here is Rue Charlot. Walk in everywhere.
