Debbie's has it all - location, view, great food, and a gorgeous building. Leisurely enjoy a delicious meal and then start walking around this amazing neighbourhood by the old palace grounds and the President's Blue House (the Korean White House) in Seoul.

Situated in an old, former residential building along the walls of the old palace, if you have any pull - like our local friends did for us - you can get a table with a view of the palace walls and a glimpse beyond.

The food is actually Western despite the aura being traditional, and we really enjoyed an excellent pasta dish with tons of garlicky cherry tomatoes and basil, as well as a smoky spiced egg benedict.

I can't think of a better place to kick-off a walkabout in one of my most favourite neighbourhoods - Sullagil, Iksundong, Bukchon, Samcheongdong - in Seoul - if you can get a reservation.
