New York City's MacDougal Street isn't a must visit - but if you're a history, music or movie buff - you may like it.
The Greenwich Village street has always had a cafe scene due to its university location and artsy and bohemian roots.
Four spots you can check out if you're there:
1. La Lanterna (129 MacDougal, a cafe and dining spot in a historic building)
2. Caffe Reggio (119 MacDougal, a pastry and coffee shop that's said to have served the first cappuccino in America
3. Cafe Wha? (115 MacDougal, a live performance space where Bob Dylan first played); and
4. Dante NYC (79-81 MacDougal, a 1915 cafe now transformed into a cocktail and light plates joint).
All are within a five minute walk of each other - so you can survey the scene and see if any are right for you.
If not, no worries. Regroup for a drink or a burger at Keith McNally's Minetta Tavern.
