Some may sniff at recommending Fontainebleau as a Miami destination to visit, but if you're an architecture, film or television buff, we think you should give the classic hotel a shot.
If you haven't seen the Miami Beach hotel in person, you've likely come across it on the small and big screen.
The Fontainebleau has hosted many productions, including Goldfinger, Scarface, The Bodyguard, The Sopranos and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
And if film and movie locations aren't your scene, the lobby alone is worth a gander. Architected by Morris Lapidus in the 1950s, the glitzy and retro reception area sparkles with yesteryear flash.
Also, the oceanfront hotel makes for a good place to temporarily check your bags if you're between hotels or cruises. Once there, you can grab a quick, pricey bite by the beach. Or leave the Vegas-like hotel grounds momentarily to stroll barefoot along the shore - as long as the Portuguese man o' war aren't in season... Yup, you're not ready for these jellies... Sorry couldn't resist.
