This modest trattoria located not far from the Spanish Steps exceeded our high expectations on our first night in the Eternal City. We dove into rich Fettuccine with meat sauce and cleaned the plate with the last piece of bread. The cacio e pepe stayed with us long after we left. We raved about it as we finished off a bottle of Argiolas and woke up thinking about it the next day. On our last night in Rome we were back. This time we shared dishes of ravioli (where has this been all my life) roman tripe (try it), meatballs (not just any meatballs, trust us) and more cacio e pepe washed down with a liter of their house white. The restaurant offers plenty of outdoor seating and extends to the street around corner where they have a salumeria. The downstairs is quiet with arches and exposed bricks that offer a more rustiic setting. You'll leave remembering your waiters names and feeling like you have been friends forever. They made sure of this with us by refilling our wine glasses without us asking and making sure we topped everything off with their preferred digestive, a limoncello of course!
