This is a gorgeous book - to read, admire, and be inspired by. It can be a coffee table book, but one with substance. And once you start viewing these pages, it hits your heart with a thump as to why Halston is the GOAT - the Greatest of All Times.
Generally regarded as one of the ultimate books about Halston, Halston: An American Life by Elaine Gross and Fred Rottman captures the career of the famed designer in words and pictures.
It is out-of-print, first published in 1999, but you can find it on the resale market.
If you do find it between the $40 to $200 range, buy it. We did, and we love it.
The retrospective makes for a great addition to any collection – particularly if you’re a fashion designer or a coffee table book connoisseur.
It even contains a look at a few of his patterns.
