La Colombe d’Or is one of the most famous hotel and restaurants in Saint Paul de Vence. Over the years, it has welcomed legendary artists like Jean Cocteau, Fernand Leger, Henri Matisse, Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso, Orson Welles, amongst others. Recently renovated and reopened, it remains a must-visit for those looking for history, sophistication, and a true sense of place.
There are only one to two seatings per lunch and dinner, and walk-ins won’t get a table. It’s not the kind of place where you can just drop in for a coffee.
The menu changes seasonally, featuring fantastic salads and chicken dishes that are out of this world. The setting is expensive, refined, and one of the best places for people-watching in the region.
Come for the food, but also for the history and atmosphere that make it feel truly special.
The art collection has grown years after years until today; the latest work installed is a large ceramic by the Irish artist Sean Scully for the swimming pool area.
And the Roux family continues to take care of the Colombe d’Or.
