I had such an amazing time at Under the Mango Tree inside the Jehan Numa Palace Hotel... that I went back again.
There's so much to like here.
The restaurant, known for its barbecue and royal Bhopal recipes, is housed in a beautiful five-star colonial-style hotel.
The restaurant's contemporary decor attracts the young talent of the Bhopal region.
And the Machhli Ka Salan, pieces of Bhopal river fish cooked in yogurt and onion gravy, was succulent.
I also recommend the Khameeri Roti; the Fish Rai Tamatar (fish cooked with mustard and tomatoes); Bharwan Bhindi (stuffed okra); and the Mausami Tarkari (seasonal cumin-spiced vegetables).
And, if you like, there's a towel to rinse your fingers after munching.
