We love talking about pizza around here. And I actually find pizza to be the ultimate barometer of a country's tomato quality when traveling abroad.

In any case, we only write about pizza when it is truly excellent.

This place used to be called Best Pizza and Dive Bar. It seems there is placed called Best Pizza in Brooklyn so they may have needed to give up the front part of their name. It's bold to call your pizza the best, and we worried they may not live up to their name.

But we went to try it out, first on a special stretch of Montauk Highway in Napeague that has that casual laid-back apres-surf energy we adore - and they have since moved to an equally laid back location in Montauk by the docks.

And we love it. We love the bar, we love the back yard, we love the music, with sometimes awesome bands and an always awesome jukebox. And actually, the pizza is great.

Try their signature Grandma's pizza, or the thin crust Margherita. We actually prefer the latter, but their Granda's will be one of the best Grandma's you'll ever have.
