I have a coat that was made by collaborators of the costumes in the science fiction movie Dune. It is a showstopper. Almost everyone asks me where I got the striking, edgy, yet feminine coat. I tell them I got it at an S&M store.

I first walked into Shop Untitled in the West Village of NYC to find a costume to be Cleopatra at a party. After unsuccessfully rummaging through the several costume stores downtown, I walked into this store the old fashioned way - because the window display was cool.

I tried on headpieces with horns, coats with wings, jackets with chains, and asymmetrical dresses, all that made me feel like I was either Maleficent, or in a scene from Eyes Wide Open.

Turns out the store has been around since the 1980’s introducing international designers to New York City, carrying the very first collections of the likes of John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, Martin Margiela, Raf Simmons to name a few.
