Everyone told us about Eslava, the most amazing restaurant in Seville serving exquisite, elevated tapas that combine tradition and modernity. So we booked a stay with Eslava, in the posh district of San Lorenzo in Sevilla.
But Eslava Restaurant was closed, the first time around. So we went next door. El Pantera de San Lorenzo looks like a casual neighborhood corner bar with high tables on the sidewalk and a grand view of the church, but it is much more than that. The tapas are amazing, and the steak tartar may be one of the three best in the world by our count. The food is creative and beautifully presented, like you are at a fine dining restaurant.
Get there early. Lines start forming on the street before the bar reopens post-siesta.
