Born in 1968, French artist Emmanuel Gimeno, a has carved out a unique path in contemporary art for more than three decades.
After graduating from the École des Beaux-Arts in 1990, he began his career assisting renowned photographers like Françoise Huguier, Steve Hiett, Jean-Paul Goude, and Helmut Newton.
This apprenticeship fueled a personal practice marked by exploratory techniques: image sequences, fragmented negatives, and multiple exposures.
His recent work, which combines photography, installations, object repurposing, drawing, and writing, creates a captivating dialogue between image and material.
In addition to his artistic career, Gimeno has made a significant impact in fashion and lifestyle imagery, with numerous publications in Harper’s Bazaar, Spoon Magazine, and many others.
After holding positions as Senior Creative Director in Europe, Asia, and the United States, he decided in 2023 to devote himself exclusively to his personal work, continuing an aesthetic exploration at the intersection of photography and other narrative forms.
