Ex-Balthazar chefs Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson opened Frenchette as their own when they parted wtih Keith McNally now over a decade ago.
It's got great ambiance with a nice glow, plenty of booths to request when reserving. To me, it's a place to walk into late night or early evening, see if you can get a seat at the bar, and order a martini with one yummy dish to share. It's not the kind of place where I would enjoy every course if I were to order three courses here.
It's not quite as classic as Balthazar or Odeon, but if you treat it like a neighbourhood brasserie, you can have fun here.
