Attention, all. We had the best night in Berlin at a club/bar called Georgia.
A blue rope and a handsome doorman separate you from the magic. Wait around the rope, smile and look your best, and hopefully you hear the click of a clasp and see a smile, the wave of a hand and the opening into the belly of the beats.
Georgia is a dimly-lit den whose main features include a bar up front, a dance floor and DJ stage to the left, and stairs leading up to a small VIP-ish area with a couple of leather couches.
The pair of DJs at this small Mitte space threw down tune after tune and whipped the beautiful crowd into a frenzy with tingly tunes, including “From Disco To: Disco (Adam Port Remix)” by Whirlpool Productions” and “Full Moon” by Gehringer.
While there, my cocktail disappeared for a moment, until I realized a fancy, older, and thoroughly intoxicated gentleman had lifted my drink off the table and was topping it off with his personal bottle of champagne. He then took one sip - maybe to show me it was not poisoned? - and handed the glass, now sloshing at the brim, back to me.
It was just one of those nights.
We can’t wait to go back.
