Blow-Up, 1969's masterpiece by Michelangelo Antonioni, is one of our favorite movies. And it's one of our most favorite soundtracks, too.
Composed by jazz legend Herbie Hancock, the music for Blow-Up captures the Swinging 60's in London with a range of sultry instrumental sounds.
While not listed on Spotify, there's a howl of a garage rock song by The Yardbirds included on the vinyl version.
Titled "Stroll On," the song showcases the talents of both Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page and it propels the movie (and the album) forward with its loud sound and fast pacing.
But the titanic tune that's near and dear to our tympanis is Hancock's "Bring Down the Birds," which later served as the foundation for Deee-Lite's classic "Groove Is in the Heart."
Listen to the two songs above... to get ready to dance and have some fun.
