From contributor Ultimate Pie Guy:
If you like nature, seafood, hiking, remote beaches and boating past beautiful rock formations, a visit to Sai Kung in Hong Kong’s New Territories is well worth a visit.
A 30-minute cab ride from Central, Sai Kung shows a different and gentler side of a city known mostly for its gritty vibrancy and on-the-go hum.
The first part of your day in Sai Kung should begin with a short hike to Trio Beach.
To get there, ask your driver to drop you off at Lions Nature Park, where you’ll find a path at the end of Che Keng Tuk Road.
After your dip in clean water and a tan on soft sand, hire a little boat to Hebe Haven Yacht Club.
From there, taxi over to Sai Kung Town, where you can explore the shops and grab a bite at Little Cove Espresso, a chain restaurant that serves great coffee drinks and food, including vegetarian options.
Afterwards, walk the shoreline and take a seat at Turtle by the Sea, a perfect place to people watch and drink a beer.
If you’re able to stay for dinner, visit Sing Kee for seafood. The Michelin-recognized food is delicious and I find the view to be beautiful and peaceful when I sit outdoors and look at the bay.
