While in Florence, we stayed at the Sina Villa Medici, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. It was a nice hotel (though fully booked) and the service was great. The one downside: it’s a 15-minute walk from downtown Florence.

Next time we’re staying at the St. Regis or the Westin Excelsior – which are gorgeous, cozy and more conveniently located, with some rooms facing the plaza or Arno Rriver.

Whether or not you stay at The St. Regis, go to the bar and order an Aperol Spritz or signature Bloody Mary (with Sichuan peppercorn).

And if you’re feeling peckish, try their club sandwich. It’s phenomenal.
