Love Supreme Projects is more than a yoga studio. Housed in a former church space that was previously Stella McCartney's studio, it is a safe space that uses yoga and music as a way to create community.
Come to the two-hour Sunday Special once a month, where they have a live music class that is by donation. Stay behind and linger at the large communal table to sip chai tea and eat samosas brought to the studio by ladies from Mumbai Mix. All proceeds go to a charity, sometimes local sometimes global, and AZAHAR has also been a beneficiary.
Or come on Friday nights to dance Cuban Salsa or be cleansed with an intense sound therapy session using gongs and crystal bowls.
Always stay behind to share tea and cookies - the beauty of this former church space is the gathering space on the ground floor with the communal table that brings us all together.
Intentionally started in this very diverse neighbourhood that has a lot of economic disparity, with many different nationalities and racial groups represented, Love Supreme Projects tries to bring everybody in with a sliding scale pay structure, and a partnership with WYKD that offers free yoga classes to the North Kensington community. It's lovely to see the impact, as you notice students who were only able to find yoga thanks to WYKD's free classes (offered twice a week here) start coming to other classes here on a regular basis.
If you are in London, don't miss the chance to experience the joy at Love Supreme Projects.
