You all know my love of markets. And for tapas, my trusted Spaniard told me to go to this market, Mercado de la Boqueria by the Ramblas in Barcelona. You can't miss it, a mix of locals and tourists, and just a fabulous symphony of sensations, you might even bump into a performance of Bach amongst the meat stalls!
Dating back to the 1200's, all the merchants in this market including the farmer stalls and flower stalls, are a part of the Boqueria Merchants' Association.
Save your appetite to sample food from every stall. Buy tins of white anchovies in lemon to take home, whether home is Barcelona or abroad. And perhaps even make a liquid exception to your travel packing for some gorgeous oils and vinegars.
