Born in Poland, and now living in Berlin, Alicja Kwade is an up-and-coming artist who is gaining recognition for her simple, yet daring compositions.
Through sculpture, installations, and other imagery, Kwade's works are explorations of shapes, materials and relationships, such as "Seige du Monde (2021)," a bronze chair placed over a marble globe.
Her work is impressive up close and she's definitely one to watch -- with her pieces becoming more visible on the world stage.
She had installations at New York's Metropolitan Museum (2019), Paris' Place Vendome (2022) and Saudi Arabia's Desert X AlUla (2022).
She's showed at many galleries and museums, including LA's Pace Gallery, Austria's Kuntshaus Graz, Netherland's Museum Voorlinden, and Mexico City's Galeria OMR).
And she's seen her creations become part of various permanent collections, such as Paris' Centre Pompidou, Washington D.C.'s Hirshhorn Museum and LA's County Museum of Art).
