This Korean shabu shabu restaurant is like dining at a spa. Oncheon means hot springs in Korea, and as soon as you enter the restaurant you are transported - the scent of fermented Korean red bean paste bubbling in the distance on a wood burning fire makes you imagine that you are enveloped in an oncheon mist.
The food was quite a delight, served individually in Korean wooden boxes with different broth options. While the Korean miso version is the most popular, the vegetarian mushroom version was clean and flavourful. The side dishes here were refined and delicious.
All the cocktails looked great, and my Korean Highball made with Hwanggeum Bori (golden barley) was very refreshing.
Very soon this place is going to be a really hard reservation to get.
