This place is a bit of a hidden gem, tucked away in Southport's train station on the eastbound side. Chef Robert Patchen and his wife Donna have been running the place since 1996. Paci has consistently good food, friendly service, and a rather nice wine list (and frequently hosts dinners showcasing their wines, which generally sell out). It's a popular spot for dinner, or having drinks outdoors on the patio, and no wonder, thanks to the house-made pasta, exquisite desserts, and charming atmosphere.
But where Paci really shines is private events. Their mezzanene level, above the dining room, is quiet, removed from the rest of the crowd, and if you reserve the spot for a party, it's lovely for up to about 40 or so guests. They'll provide you a custom menu and the staff will be tremendously attentive. (They've always been patient with us since we never seem to have an exact head-count in advance, and have gladly added or removed place settings as necessary for our poor planning.)
We also love to look at the clock projected on the wall, which we find particularly absorbing (and even more so after a few glasses of their excellent wine).
