You must live the Pisani lifestyle when you are in Venice.
We learned of this small palace, the palazzetto, from a French Normandy girlfriend living in Venice and engaged to a Count.
Palazzetto Pisani is an exclusive secret on the Grand Canal. Located between Accademia Bridge and Campo Santo Stefano, you must arrive in style on a water taxi to the private water entrance. The Noble Floor has a salon where breakfast is served under gigantic cut glass chandeliers, and another salon with grand balconies overlooking the Grand Canal for your afternoon glass of champagne under portraits of the Ferri noblewomen. It is truly a once in a lifetime presence!
The Pisani family, by the way, appeared on the Venetian social scene in the 14th century, founded one of Venice's most prominent banks, and amassed a great deal of wealth. In the 18th century they bought this much smaller and older building to gain access to the Grand Canal and connect it with the enormous Palazzo Pisani a San Stefano behind it where they lived. The Palazzo now houses the Music Conservatory of Venice.
The famous Gritti Palace Hotel was also the home of the Pisani family in the 15th century, before becoming the home of Andrea Gritti for centuries that followed.
