Many people think New York is a food mecca. But when I think about gastronomy, I think Sao Paulo has even better offerings than the Big Apple.

If I had one night, I’d go to all of her playfully-named places -- and there are a lot of them.

Vanzetto's culinary empire includes EMA (seafood); MICO (Mediterranean); Matilda Lanches (hamburgers and fresh sandwiches); Muquifo (pasta and meats); Mi.Ado (Asian); and MeGusta Bar and Me Taberna (Peruvian, Mexican and Brazilian fare).

All of these restaurants are very small, and they're very hard to reserve -- so please make a booking a long time in advance.
