This is a tip from a true insider, when I asked her for her favourite dimsum recommendation.
She said her favourite is an oldie. Royal Seafood at 103 Mott Street, north of Canal Street. Itβs a classic Hong Kong dim sum emporium, complete with carts.
Pro tip from her, go early (11 or earlier) or be prepared to wait, even on weekdays. 5 or more in your party is the magic number to ensure eating a variety of dishes and getting your own table.
Variety and authenticity are key here. Possibly even too much variety that she once ordered the wrong tripe dim sum accidentally as they make several styles. Who knew?π€·π»ββοΈ
This place is typically old world, service can be surly, and you can also be subject to waiters or zealous cart ladies who overstock your table to sell out their carts.
All of which just adds to the fun, in my humble opinion.
