Seoraemaeul is a very nice foodie neighbourhood in Seoul. Originally a French expat area - the ubiquitous French school system is located here - I think the area soaked up the French joie de vivre over the years.
And by chance, we found Micasa-tei, a Japanese grill and sake bar. A bit pricey for Seoul but still a good deal, I adored this tiny little izakaya spot an amazing raw bar. Their speciality sashimi was smoked in hay, and was absolutely delicious.
The two owner/partners were the only staff there in this intimate setting. They were both working the kitchen and the tables, providing us with attentive and caring service.
I would love to go back here again. But note, this is a very foodie back alley neighbourhood - feel free too walk around and poke your head in and serendipitously find your own favourite spot as well.
