Arguably Berlin’s most well-known museum, the Pergamon Museum, a showcase for ancient Roman, Greek and Middle Eastern antiquities, is closed for a prolonged stretch due to much-needed renovations.
The North Hall and the famed Pergamon Altar are scheduled to go on public view in the Spring of 2027, but the South Hall, which had featured the Market Gate of Miletus, the Ishtar Gate, and the Museum of Islamic Art, is slated to reopen in 2037 at the earliest.
At the moment, you can still access the museum’s virtual tour page if you would like to see some of the institution’s past displays.
