We love the Captain and his wife and the 50 foot traditional Turkish wooden yacht, known as a goulette.
We’ve sailed with them three times already: once with five couples, once just ourselves (and that means me and my husband), and once with our sister and brother-in-law.
You sail every day, dock at private coves, dive for fish and sea urchin, and swim or kayak in crystal clear waters.
The food is fantastic, including the freshly caught fish cooked on a charcoal grill off the side of the deck, and you drink bottles and bottles of blush, a light Turkish rosé wine.
There are many such charter boats out of Bodrum Marina, but our captain owns his boat, which makes it even more special, and he has been working with the same chef for many years and we adore him and the rest of the crew. He is also one of the few Turkish captains licensed to sail the Greek Isles.
If you want to know more, sign up for a free Wonder Shuffle account, follow me to send me a DM, and I will send you a private card with contact details of the captain.
Whether you sail with our captain or another boat - and many of them are advertised out of the local marinas - the formula that I described above is a winning one and we recommend it to everyone.
It will leave you completely refreshed. It is the best vacation ever.
