I'm not sure you can say that Covid had many silver linings, but one bright light for me was that my yoga teacher, Yogeswari, was able to convert her worldwide following into an online community.
As Yogeswari travels the world, prior to the pandemic, you were only able to practice with her when she was visiting the town you were in, whether New York City, London, Berlin, or Tokyo or Moscow, or follow her on her retreats in Bodrum, Turkey, or Mani, Greece. But now every Monday and Thursday for 90 minutes she looks into your eye, teaches you yoga philosophy and starts a musical practice that is both rigorous and spiritual, and completely satisfying. It truly focuses you, because it requires your complete attention for those 90 minutes.
She is also founder of Azahar Foundation, which is dedicated to using yogic teachings and yoga to heal trauma in war or conflict-torn countries, such as Rwanda and Cambodia.
You can learn more about her and sign up for her yoga classes here.
