For Vivian Mak, owner of MingCha Teas, tea is more than a product, it’s poetry and part of life.
It’s certainly part of hers. She’s a Chinese tea evangelist, educating others about the different types of flavor-packed, all-natural leaves plucked from the elevated hills of mainland China.
Vivian has been selling her MingCha brand of teas and accessories in Hong Kong for over 10 years as well as teaching about the benefits and pleasures that come along with a good cuppa.
From unfermented greens to the semi-fermented oolongs to oxidized puers and more, Vivian’s teas are pleasing for any palate.
We recently visited her Chai Wan-based showroom on a hot day, and she offered us her blend of cold-brewed Jasmine tea.
The chilled elixir was thirst-quenching and energizing.
According to Vivian, all you need is
* 1L - 1.5L jar;
* Room temp. water; and
* 1 ball of Jasmine Blossoms.
With these ingredients at the ready, you place "the ball in the jar, fill the jar with water, [and] put in the fridge for 8-10 hours to 4 days."
We're sure you can experiment with your own jasmine teas, but Vivian's signature Jasmine Blossoms are truly something special and a sight to behold.
If interested, they're available for sale on her website or as part of a sampler that we're promoting in our Marketplace.
