From contributor ultimatepieguy:
The Negroni – the cocktail made with Campari, gin and sweet vermouth – was invented at Giacosa in Florence in 1919.
The space shuttered in 2017 – but has now reopened in a new location across the street.
We arrived in Florence by train and, being a Negroni aficionado, the first thing we did was go to Giacosa.
I had one, two, three Negronis. All different kinds.
The bar literally has a bible of different kinds of Negronis. So I had three while MB had a refresher colada (which came with an umbrella scented with a special beachy fragrance created by local perfumery Antica Erboristeria San Simone.
MB liked her drink and the wonderful scent – but it wasn’t a Negroni.
The Negronis here are unreal.
All I have to say is everybody’s gotta go here.
