Author Mark Twain was a seasoned international traveler, and found great success writing about his adventures in his books The Innocents Abroad, The Tramp Abroad, and Following the Equator.
Here is the beginning of his stylebook.
STYLE
* Twain began wearing white suits later in life.
* He smoked over 40 cigars a day.
* He was a fan of pocket watches.
TRAVEL
* Twain visited many countries, including Australia, Austria, Canada, England, Fiji, France, Hawaii, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, New Zealand, Nicaragua, South Africa, Switzerland and Ukraine.
* While in London, Twain stayed at Brown's Hotel and drank at the American Bar at The Savoy.
* During one of his European trips, Twain pined for the comforts of American food and in Chapter 49 of The Tramp Abroad detailed the "modest" meal that should be prepared for him upon his return.

Great menu, but no way we could eat any of that in a white suit.
